Financial education: analysis of the finance knowledge of students in a high school

Resumo: This study aims to demonstrate and analyze the level of knowledge of adolescent students in high school and identify the main attitudes of students in relation to financial matters. The kind of search used in this study was the descriptive. Taking into account the problem discussed, the study could be classified as quantitative, reaching their goals through questionnaires. With those goals achieved, it was concluded that the students have a considerable interest in matters relating to finance, but has not sufficient knowledge about the subject. They are pretty prone to consumerism and immediacy at the expense of more austere attitudes in relation to their resources and are vulnerable to future risks in relation to products and financial services.

O tipo de pesquisa utilizado foi o descritivo. Em relação aos procedimentos de coleta de dados, foi utilizada a pesquisa de levantamento. A abordagem do problema de pesquisa apresentado por este estudo pôde ser classificada como quantitativa, ao alcançar sua finalidade por meio da aplicação de questionários. Com os objetivos alcançados, concluiu-se que os estudantes analisados possuem interesse considerável em assuntos relacionados a finanças, porém não possuem suficientes conhecimentos sobre o tema. Constatou-se que os sujeitos de pesquisa são consideravelmente propensos ao consumismo e imediatismo em detrimento de posturas mais austeras em relação aos seus recursos financeiros, o que os torna vulneráveis a riscos futuros em relação à contratação de produtos e serviços financeiros.
