Resumo: | In this paper, we asks about how memory and Brazilian civil-military dictatorship meet each other in Cheiro de Amor, a short story of Edla van Steen. The city of Florianopolis makes the framework for the storytelling. Toward this purpose, we discuss some topics of the narrative, focusing on the repetition of sex episodes of Camila, the protagonist. We take the literary form to put in question how an image of Florianopolis is associated with Camila’s sex life. We conclude by comparing Edla’s writing with others esthetic approaches that take Florianopolis as subject, especially that of the writer Salim Miguel. |
