Practices in Portuguese language teaching: a case study on a university project of school intervention

The theme of this article refers to academic research on the teaching of orality in real school settings. We aim to present a case study on the project “Oral practices in the teaching of the Portuguese language: orality, social activities and public oral genres in the school context of the central region of Rio Grande do Sul”, describing the development of research activities already developed and presenting those that still need to be carried out under the proposal. The results of the study demonstrate that, in the subprojects developed within the scope of the integrated project, some of the main problems were related to the school contexts of application, such as the difficulties in accepting the proposal by the governing body and teaching staff of many public schools and, when accepted, the hostile context often experienced by the public school community.Keywords: Orality.
