Resumo: Different researches in the field of Applied Linguistics have sought to understand the practices of language use in different spheres of human activity. Among these researches, there are those that aim to investigate the genres of discourse in the academic sphere. In accordance with this last consideration, our essay aims to present a theoretical-methodological discussion around the genres of discourse in the academic sphere, focusing on writing practices. In order to do so, we have invested in the Dialogical Studies of Language, in the light of the considerations of the writings of the Bakhtin Circle and the current research in Dialogical Analysis of Discourse(s).

Dentre essas pesquisas, há aquelas que objetivam investigar os gêneros do discurso na esfera acadêmica. Em consonância a essa última consideração, nosso ensaio objetiva apresentar uma discussão teórico-metodológica em torno dos gêneros do discurso na esfera acadêmica, com foco nas práticas de leitura e de escrita.
