Metadiscourse from Hyland’s perspective: definitions, categorization models, and possible contributions.

Resumo: Metadiscourse is a field of study that has received much attention in different areas of the study of language from various theoretical perspectives and it can be considered as the embodiment of the relations of interaction between interlocutors through the text. It is relevant to thinking about the difficulties of defining the term metadiscourse, and so this article intends to present the definitions commonly used, to indicate some models or theoretical frameworks that work with this concept and to point possible applications of these studies. It presents some theoretical and practical perspectives in the study of this theme, and it intends to offer a subsidy for future research in different social spheres.
