Resumo: | The productivity of a team in a software project is directly related to the complexity and size of the product, however, in addition, it must be considered that bureaucratic activities also consume development team time. Advances in research and technology in the area have produced many methodologies, techniques and tools to overcome these difficulties. However, despite these improvements, it is very common for software projects to produce poor quality artifacts or to exceed the project budget and schedule. For the development process to be effective and efficient, so must be its management. The use of gamified approaches can assist in managing software development teams, as well as acting as a motivator for the individual to perform their assignments more effectively and efficiently. In this context, this dissertation presents a gamified approach to software project management, based on the famous game Dungeons & Dragons, a table role-playing game where players and the master dungeon build a collaborative narrative. In the gamified approach the game elements have been adapted to represent the reality of software development projects, where players are the development team itself. A tool called the RANGER was designed to validate the gamified approach through which players and the master dungeon elaborate, control and monitor game elements and software design. The result of the study indicates that the use of gamification is an assertive solution, providing increased motivation of participants and assisting in the effective application of the software development process. |
