Resumo: The biggest challenge of structural masonry is to correlate the set bedding mortar-block and transform it into a ductile system, with a predictive behaviour, as these materials own properties and different compositions when analysed separately. Besides that, the brazilian current regulations of masonry does not consider, in a direct manner, that the masonry can influence in the final resistance and in the failure mode of the wall. Bearing in mind that the properties of the bedding mortar as well as the block can influence the performance of the masonry, the present work sought to evaluate the failure mode of compressive prisms, varying the type of structural block and the resistance of the laying mortar. The study was held with three different types of blocks: ceramics of massive walls, ceramics of bare walls and concrete. Each type of block was combined with three resistances of industrialized bedding mortar, being casted prisms of two blocks of height. In this regard, has been made technological laboratory tests and shootings of the prisms axial compressive tests. Also has been made compressive tests in instrumented proof bodies of the bedding mortar used for a prism molding, with the purpose of plot a material stress-strain curve and verify the beginning of the nonlinear behaviour, in other words, verify as of what tension starts to loose its bearing capacity, with the propagation of the internal cracks from the zone of paste-aggregate transition to the cement matrix. From the analysis of the results was possible to verify the influence of the proportion between the resistance to the bedding mortar compression and the block over the resistance and the way of failure of the compressive prisms, propose equations of resistance forecasts for each type of prism and ascertain that the relation liquid area/ gross area of the block interferes in the failure mode. It was observed that for the prisms of ceramic blocks the increase of the bedding mortar resistance causes a resistance increment on the prism, as well as alternates the behaviour of the failure mode. For the prisms of concrete blocks it was found that the resistance of the bedding mortar did not interfere in the ultimate resistance of the prism, but triggering the failure mode process.

As normas brasileiras vigentes de alvenaria não consideram, de maneira direta, que a argamassa pode influenciar na resistência final e no modo de ruptura da parede. Tendo em vista que tanto as propriedades da argamassa como do bloco podem influenciar o desempenho da alvenaria, o presente trabalho busca avaliar o modo de ruptura de prismas comprimidos, variando o tipo de bloco estrutural e a resistência da argamassa de assentamento. Este estudo analisou três diferentes tipos de blocos: cerâmicos de paredes maciças, cerâmicos de paredes vazadas e de concreto. Cada tipo de bloco foi combinado com três resistências de argamassa industrializada de assentamento, sendo moldados prismas de dois blocos de altura. Para isso, foram realizados ensaios de laboratório e filmagens dos ensaios de compressão axial dos prismas. Também foram realizados ensaios de compressão em corpos de prova instrumentados das argamassas utilizadas para a moldagem dos prismas, com a finalidade de traçar a curva tensão-deformação específica do material e verificar o início do comportamento não linear, ou seja, verificar a partir de que tensão começa a perder a sua capacidade resistente, com a propagação das fissuras internas desde a zona de transição pasta-agregado para a matriz cimentícia. A partir da análise dos resultados verificou-se a influência da proporção entre a resistência à compressão da argamassa e do bloco sobre a resistência e o modo de ruptura dos prismas compridos; propor equações de previsão resistência para cada tipo de prisma e averiguar que a relação área líquida/área bruta do bloco interfere no modo de ruptura. Observou-se que para os prismas de blocos cerâmicos o aumento da resistência da argamassa provoca um incremento de resistência no prisma e altera o comportamento do modo de ruptura. Para os prismas de blocos de concreto verificou-se que a resistência da argamassa não interferiu na resistência última do prisma, mas sim no desencadeamento do processo do modo de ruptura.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia CivilUFSMBrasilEngenharia CivilAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessModo de rupturaAlvenaria estruturalResistência à compressãoFailure modeStructural masonryCompressive strengthCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVILAnálise do modo de ruptura e previsão de resistência à compressão de prismas de alvenaria estrutural de blocos cerâmicos e de concretoAnalysis of the failure mode and resistence forecast do structural masonry compressive prisms of ceramic and concrete blocksinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisMohamad, Gihadhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5446970753192990Lübeck, Andréhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7511022637484145Sánchez Filho, Emil de Souzahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7266906180520143Rizzatti, Eduardohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2907271596071103http://lattes.cnpq.br/2439803034582588Machado, Julia Favretto300100000003600821281d4-7dc1-4c12-b084-2d4c1590347a0ffd2f2d-9ce2-41c5-8d65-ec02fac27bdcb5c2b623-b3a1-4048-a484-354ba5db0e84e4cc5077-9586-4b89-9357-92364e0672c4168ddbe9-e73b-4690-982a-ebf37d172d8dreponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEC_2019_MACHADO_JULIA.pdfDIS_PPGEC_2019_MACHADO_JULIA.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf4939148http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/17357/1/DIS_PPGEC_2019_MACHADO_JULIA.pdfba95b8a5bdfb21f65ac21e594f347f57MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
