Resumo: This dissertation aimed to analyze the sensory systems and the presence of food selectivity, through the Protocol Sensory 1 - Questionnaire for Parents - 3 to 10 years (DUNN, 1999), clinical observation and Food Guide elaborated by the author of children with typical development e and a children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), from three to ten years of age. The analysis included the correlation and comparison between the percentual results of Sensory Profile 1, with the presence of food selectivity, the number of foods consumed, the food groups, the food consistency, the attitude towards the new food and the variable prematurity. This was a quantitative cross-sectional study with a sample of 40 children, 20 children with typical development and 20 children diagnosed with ASD. For the analysis, the statistical software STATISTICA 9.1 was used, with the descriptive statistics tests, Mann- Whitney Non-Parametric Test, Student’s T-Test and Chi-square Association Test, considering a significance level of 5 %. As results of this research, a significant correlation was found between the percentage of alteration of the Sensory Profile in the group of children with ASD compared to the typical development group. The detailed observation of each item of the profile showed that the lower the value the greater the risk for the difference between the groups. We also found the presence of food selectivity, with less amount of food consumed, the restriction of the food group vegetables and meat and eggs and the non- acceptance of only a pasty food consistency in the group of children with ASD compared to the group in typical development. In addition, there was a significant result regarding the attitude towards food, in which the group with TEA presented a very negative attitude when compared to the typical developmental group. Finally, regarding the variable prematurity, no significant result was obtained, since they were premature children. The result of this dissertation allow e dust to conclude about the need for sensory evaluation, with a specialized occupational therapist, of food restriction cases, in addition to evaluations already performed with other health professionals such as pediatricians, nutritionists and speech- language therapists, since it was clear that the difficulties of the group of children with ASD originated in sensory issues since the risk of dysphagia and orofacial alterations were discarded in the analyzed group by their speech therapists.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa transversal, do tipo quantitativa, com uma amostra de 40 crianças, sendo 20 crianças com desenvolvimento típico e 20 crianças com diagnóstico de TEA. Utilizaram-se o Protocolo Perfil Sensorial 1 - Questionário para os Pais – 3 a 10 anos, observação clínica e Roteiro Alimentar elaborado pela autora para realizar a coleta de dados. A análise contou com a correlação e comparação dos resultados percentuais obtidos no Perfil Sensorial 1 detalhado com a presença de seletividade alimentar, o número de alimentos distintos consumidos, os grupos alimentares, a consistência alimentar, a atitude frente ao alimento novo e a variável prematuridade. Para a realização das análises foi utilizado o aplicativo computacional STATISTICA 9.1, com os testes de estatística descritiva, Teste Não Paramétricos U de Mann-Whitney, Teste T de Student e Teste de associação do Qui - Quadrado, considerando-se um nível de significância de 5%. Como resultados desta pesquisa, encontrou-se correlação significativa entre a porcentagem de alteração do Perfil Sensorial no grupo de crianças com TEA quando comparado ao grupo em desenvolvimento típico. A observação detalhada de cada item do perfil evidenciou que, quanto menor o valor maior o risco para a diferença entre os grupos. Também foram encontradas a presença de seletividade alimentar, com menor quantidade de alimentos consumidos, a restrição do grupo alimentar legumes e verduras e carnes e ovos e a não aceitação da consistência alimentar pastosa no grupo de crianças com TEA em comparação ao grupo em desenvolvimento típico. Além disso, encontrou-se resultado significativo no que se refere à atitude frente ao alimento, em que o grupo com TEA apresentou atitude negativa quando comparado ao grupo em desenvolvimento típico. Por fim, com relação à variável prematuridade não se obteve resultado significativo, visto que eram crianças prematuras tardias. Os resultados desta dissertação permitiram concluir sobre a necessidade da avaliação sensorial, com terapeuta ocupacional especializada, de casos de restrição alimentar, além das avaliações já realizadas com os demais profissionais da saúde como pediatra, nutricionista e fonoaudiólogo, pois ficou claro que as dificuldades do grupo de crianças com TEA tinham origem em questões sensoriais já que o risco de disfagia e alterações orofaciais foram descartadas no acompanhamento fonoaudiológico que as criança recebiam.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências da SaúdePrograma de Pós-Graduação em Distúrbios da Comunicação HumanaUFSMBrasilFonoaudiologiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDesenvolvimento infantilTranstorno do espectro autistaSensorialAlimentaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FONOAUDIOLOGIAProcessamento sensorial e alimentação em crianças com desenvolvimento típico e com transtorno do espectro autistaSensory processing and feeding in children with typical development and autistic spectrum disorders in the age of the 3 to 10 yearsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisSouza, Ana Paula Ramos dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7859963389320763Haeffner, Leris Salete Bonfantihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4056008693346464Stella, Angela Ruviaro Busanellohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3609865328274481http://lattes.cnpq.br/9596957686554264Oliveira, Pâmela Lima de40070000000360078b028d5-7579-43e9-836d-ab2b136a45086dfba8b1-6c00-4f16-8c3b-cb49682fe402259d2afe-9fef-4325-9420-17884cde8b10b741ca07-f0e8-40aa-a6aa-b540f4341c29reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGDCH_2019_OLIVEIRA_PAMELA.pdfDIS_PPGDCH_2019_OLIVEIRA_PAMELA.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf921777http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/19742/1/DIS_PPGDCH_2019_OLIVEIRA_PAMELA.pdf7ba3cd55fe517b578ec7865bba069643MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
