Institutional host, adoption and teacher`s formation: a needed reflection

The article aims to investigate if teachers are prepared to work with the children who are in institutional host. To this end were used as basis the studies done by Veloso (2015), Moreno and Batista (2017), Caio (2014), Rossi and Rossi (2017), among others. It is a qualitative research of a bibliographical and documentary kind, in order to verify.the existence of the subject on the roll of the subject matters of the researched Pedagogy course. The results show that there isn`t a specific content about the theme adoption and its strands on the list of the disciplines offered by the Pedagogy course. Nevertheless, there are initiatives of the proporses of the course to offer projects of research and extension turned to the theme adoption, as well as offering the special discipline entitled ¨School and Adoption¨, along courses of continued formation to teachers and managers of public and private kindergarten and elementary schools. These initiatives were considered to be important and positive ones to the dissemination of the theme, mainly on the academic and school areas.
