In this text I present my personal trajectory and the highlights of my professional trajectory at the university. I was born in the city of Porto Alegre where I lived until 1993. I am the fourth child of a family of 6 children and my parents were public servants. My formative trajectory was in public school in Rio Grande do Sul like most people of my generation. I grew up with female teachers and being at school used to be quite common. Between books and lots of games, I became a teacher for young children and had the privilege of being in elementary school for 15 years. Then life brought me to Santa Maria and I have been here for twenty-four years. Thus, I will tell you about the paths taken to become a professor and researcher at the Federal University of Santa Maria and achieve the last degree of my university career, Professor at the Department of Teaching Methodology. In this academic sector I was temporarily assigned for three years, when I was still attached to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, as a professor at Colégio de Application. Then, through a public examination, I dedicated myself to teaching in higher education and research, definitely at this university. Achieving tenure in the university career, based on academic merit, is a recent achievement. Before, this merit would only be given to the professor through a new public examination. Therefore, this achievement is recognition for the years of dedication to work and research that teachers can achieve. So I feel honored!
