Pedagogical coordination in pandemic times: social representations and practices in public school

Resumo: | This article aims to identify the social representations of pedagogical coordinators about their work in the context of the pandemic and indicating how such representations are related to their practices in public schools. The article results from a qualitative research, outlined as a field study, developed in two stages. In the first, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 10 coordinators of the Municipal Network of Recife, in the second, direct observation of the practice of a pedagogical coordinator was carried out. We analyzed the collected material with the support of content analysis. The results reveal that, in the coordinators' social representations, their work during the pandemic was difficult, affected by social distancing and lack of access to technological resources. However, the pedagogical coordination sought to offer support to the school community to guarantee student learning. By relating the identified representations to the practices of a coordinator, we found that the coordination has multiple functions, which compromise its performance in the continuing education of teachers at the school. |

O artigo resulta de uma pesquisa qualitativa, delineada como estudo de campo, desenvolvida em duas etapas. Na primeira, foi realizada entrevista semiestruturada com dez coordenadores da rede municipal do Recife. Na segunda, foi feita observação direta da prática de uma coordenadora pedagógica. Analisamos o material coletado com o apoio da análise de conteúdo. Os resultados revelam que, nas representações sociais dos coordenadores, seu trabalho durante a pandemia foi afetado pelo distanciamento social e falta de acesso a recursos tecnológicos. No entanto, a coordenação pedagógica buscou oferecer suporte à comunidade escolar para garantia da aprendizagem dos alunos.
