Resumo: The study of heritage education in the teaching of history is justified as the conception of cultural concepts linked to the idea of socially produced identity values, seeks to reflect on the meaning of cultural, material and immaterial heritage, culture, identity and memory for groups and basic education institutions. For the development of this research, we sought to reflect on the importance of teaching history in basic education from the heritage education methodology. Considering that the structuring of knowledge is based on existing concepts and that history is not only learned at school, but also in non-formal teaching spaces, the objective is to offer basic education teachers subsidies to the conceptual contents of cultural heritage, identity, memory, in order to help you establish a more direct relationship with the reality close to the students' experiences. School museums can be an excellent tool for pedagogical actions in history classes. Thus, our proposal aims to develop a didactic instrument for teachers of basic education based on heritage education actions, in order to understand how those exhibitions can generate knowledge. Given the importance of this history, this product may contribute, to know the memory of the city of Santa Maria, through research, heritage education and the dissemination of the school’s museums collections, resulting in knowledge and appreciation of these memory spaces by the school community and population. Conclusively, it is desired that the student perceives his role as a historical subject of his city, and collaborates in the construction of educational actions regarding the preservation, conservation, restoration and maintenance of patrimonial assets of the city of Santa Maria.

Para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa buscou-se refletir sobre a importância do ensino de história na educação básica a partir da metodologia da educação patrimonial. Considerando que a estruturação do conhecimento tem por base conceitos já existentes e que não se aprende história somente na escola, mas também em espaços não formais de ensino, o objetivo é oferecer ao professor da educação básica subsídios aos conteúdos conceituais de patrimônio cultural, identidade, memória, a fim de auxiliá-lo a estabelecer uma relação mais direta com a realidade próxima das experiências dos estudantes. Os museus escolares podem ser uma excelente ferramenta para ações pedagógicas das aulas de história. Assim, nossa proposta visa elaborar um instrumento didático, para professores da educação básica a partir de ações de educação patrimonial, de forma que se entenda como aquelas exposições podem gerar conhecimento. Diante da importância da história, esse produto poderá contribuir, para conhecer a memória da cidade de Santa Maria, através da pesquisa, a educação patrimonial e a divulgação dos acervos dos museus escolares, resultando em conhecimento e valorização desses espaços de memória pela comunidade escolar e população.
