Resumo: This dissertation analyses the credibility strategies of the Brazilian factchecking organizations Aos Fatos, Lupa, and Estadão Verifica. Interviews with reporters and editors from each factchecking platform were conducted, in addition to an in loco observation in Estadão Verifica newsroom and analysis of documents published by the organizations on their own websites. The corpus analysis was based on the manifested discursive strategies, according to Charaudeau (2006). The analysis also allowed the collected data to indicate new categories of strategies, elaborated throughout the work. Authenticity, explanation, and performance in partnerships were present in all checking platforms; verisimilitude, use of tags, and getting closer to readers were found in two organizations; and the demonstration of impartiality and the automation of the process appeared in just one. The reflection developed was based on the comprehension of journalism as a social form of knowledge crystallized in the singular (GENRO FILHO, 1987). From the discussion of the crisis of the professional journalism model, we present the centrality of the discussions on fake news and factchecking as an initiative to verify speeches and information from social networks (PALÁCIOS, 2019). These discussions are put into dialogue with the perspective of Communication and Work (FIGARO, 2018), seeking to understand the changes that the hegemonic model of journalism suffers in this context of crisis. It was possible to identify some characteristics of precarious work relationships in factchecking organizations. We were also able to indicate in the speeches of the interviewed professionals an attempt to distance and differentiate from the traditional press, in which factchecking organizations seem to be in search of credibility, built on the value of transparency and based on correspondence with reality.

Foram realizadas entrevistas com repórteres e editores de cada uma das plataformas de checagem, além de uma observação in loco na redação de Estadão Verifica e análise de documentos publicados pelas organizações estudadas em seus sites. O corpus foi analisado com base nas estratégias discursivas manifestadas, de acordo com Charaudeau (2006). A análise também permitiu que os dados coletados indicassem novas categorias de estratégias, elaboradas ao longo do trabalho. A autenticidade, a explicação e a atuação em parcerias estiveram presentes em todas as plataformas de checagem; a verossimilhança, o uso de etiquetas ou selos, a aproximação com os leitores e a educação dos leitores foram encontradas em duas organizações; e a demonstração de imparcialidade e a automatização do processo apareceram em apenas uma. A reflexão desenvolvida teve como base a compreensão do jornalismo como uma forma social de conhecimento cristalizada no singular (GENRO FILHO, 1987). A partir da discussão da crise do modelo de jornalismo profissional, é apresentada a centralidade das discussões sobre as fake news e o fact-checking como iniciativa de verificação de discursos e informações de redes sociais (PALÁCIOS, 2019). Essas discussões são postas em diálogo com a perspectiva de Comunicação e Trabalho (FIGARO, 2018), buscando entender as modificações que o modelo hegemônico de jornalismo sofre nesse contexto de crise. Foi possível identificar nas organizações de fact-checking algumas características de relações precárias de trabalho. Também pudemos indicar nos discursos dos profissionais entrevistados uma tentativa de afastamento e diferenciação da imprensa tradicional, em que as organizações de fact-checking parecem estar em busca de credibilidade, construída a partir do valor de transparência e fundamentada pela correspondência com a realidade.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em ComunicaçãoUFSMBrasilComunicaçãoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessJornalismo profissionalEstratégias de credibilidadeTrabalho do jornalistaFake newsFact-checkingProfessional journalismCredibility strategiesJournalists workFake newsFactcheckingCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::COMUNICACAOAs estratégias de credibilidade das organizações de fact-cheking brasileiras em reação às fake news no contexto de crise do jornalismo profissionalThe credibility strategies of the brazilian factchecking organizations in reaction to fake news in the context of prefessional journalism crisisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisFossá, Maria Ivete Trevisanhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0718561583412717Storch, Laura StrelowPaulino, Roseli Aparecida Figarohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9042147182655006Müller, Kauane Andressa600900000008600600600600600beee8d32-5532-4998-a23f-6d9020738566c2284263-b027-44d8-9bff-3b1b3ed25d7e0bbcb2fc-1fb9-484b-bb88-0e6af55e78dc5ea16097-a6d2-40aa-a708-ea01d3be18dfreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGCOMUNICAÇÃO_2020_MÜLLER_KAUANE.pdfDIS_PPGCOMUNICAÇÃO_2020_MÜLLER_KAUANE.pdfDissertação de mestradoapplication/pdf1256209http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/25346/1/DIS_PPGCOMUNICA%c3%87%c3%83O_2020_M%c3%9cLLER_KAUANE.pdfb15d9a2b7bfe2bc48edf8f1532a4f0fbMD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
