Resumo: O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a construção da identidade a partir do gênero discursivo “diário íntimo” e, consequentemente, os processos de reconhecimento do indivíduo em relação à própria sociedade. A elaboração dos diários, após a leitura da obra “Quarto de despejo”, de Carolina Maria de Jesus, busca compreender a forma como o educando assume uma postura ativa, reflexiva e crítica a respeito dos temas e gênero abordados para então discutir sobre si mesmo e as transformações em que está inserido. Palavras-chave: análise do discurso; gêneros discursivos; diário íntimo; memória e identidade.   Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the construction of identity from the discursive genre "diary" and hence the individual's recognition processes in relation to society itself. The preparation of the daily, after the reading of the work "Quarto de despejo," Carolina Maria de Jesus, seeks to understand how the student takes an active approach, reflective and critical themes and gender addressed to then discuss about the student itself and the transformations in which it appears.
