Resumo: The presente work proposes the reading of the story “the Golden clock” by Machado de Assis to students of the 8 and 9 years of elementar school with the main objective of pointing diferente ways of working with the literary text. For that, we use as a fundamental theoretical contribution the book AULA (2013), by Roland Barthers and its contribution of libertarian forces to mimesis, Mathesis and Semiosis, respectively the representation of the real, the diferente knowledge and word play established by the text literary. Barbosa (1996), Barthes (2013), Candido (2006), Cosson (2016), Soares (2007), among others, were used to approach and deepen this work.   Keywords: literature; force literature, literary Reading, classroom

Para tanto, utilizamos, como aporte teórico fundamental, o livro AULA (2013), de Roland Barthes e sua concepção de forças libertárias: a Mimeses, a Mathesis e a Semiosis, respectivamente: a representação do real, os diferentes saberes e jogo de palavras estabelecido no/pelo texto literário.
