Semantic description in Spanish learner’s dictionaries: the problem of grammatical words

Resumo: | The aim of this paper is to evaluate the semantic description (defining paraphrases, examples, post-comments) in entries of grammatical words in two of the most popular Spanish learner’s dictionaries in Brazil: DPELE and DSLE. The methodology consists of analyzing the semantic data arranged in the entries, taking into account the user profile, the typological definition of the dictionary, and its function. The results point to a discrepancy between the information available in the entries of the dictionaries and the real needs of their users. It is concluded, therefore, that the conception of the evaluated dictionaries does not meet the typological definition of the lexicographic genotype in question, and it does not correspond to a specific user profile. |

A metodologia consiste na análise dos dados semânticos dispostos nos verbetes, considerando o perfil do usuário, a definição tipológica do dicionário e sua(s) função(ões). Os resultados obtidos apontam para uma discrepância entre as informações disponíveis nos verbetes das obras analisadas e as reais necessidades dos consulentes.
