The care of trans people by the National Health Service professionals from the perspective of nursing students

Resumo: Mandala dos Saberes is a project that aims to give people a voice in matters that are important for its social evolution, based on Popular Education in Health. This work was inspired by the perspective of nursing students regarding the care of transgender people by healthcare professionals within the Unified Health System. The application of Mandala dos Saberes involved six female participants and one male, aged between 20 and 57 years. This event took place at the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Pernambuco, in Recife, State of Pernambuco, Brazil. The Mandala dos Saberes has eight pillars, and its application consists of placing the pillars on a circular fabric on the floor, with the mediators/facilitators and the participants around them. In addition to the pillars, images, and texts on the proposed theme were displayed: the care of transgender people by professionals of the Unified Health System, from the perspective of a nursing academic. Finally, these students emphasized the need for undergraduate courses to include internships, and classes focused on this subject, along with training based on promoting humanization for health professionals.

Este trabalho baseou-se na perspectiva que estudantes de enfermagem têm acerca do cuidado das pessoas trans por profissionais do Sistema Único de Saúde. A aplicação da Mandala dos Saberes foi realizada com seis participantes do gênero feminino e um do gênero masculino, na faixa etária de 20 a 57 anos. Esse evento ocorreu na Faculdade de Enfermagem da Universidade de Pernambuco, em Recife. A Mandala dos Saberes possui oito pilares e a aplicação deles consiste em dispor os pilares sobre um tecido circular no chão, posicionando as pessoas como mediadoras/facilitadoras e as participantes ao redor. Além dos pilares, foram dispostos imagens e textos acerca da temática proposta: o cuidado das pessoas trans por profissionais do Sistema Único de Saúde na perspectiva de acadêmiques de enfermagem.
