Resumo: In this article, Richard Shusterman discusses the controversial relation between spontaneity and reflexive somatic awareness in contemporary philosophy. He, then, approaches this subject in classical confucian and daoist authors to present spontaneity and reflection as rather complementary than contradictory dimensions to each other.
