O propósito deste trabalho visa analisar a política de formação de professores de Ensino Básico de Cabo Verde, tendo o Instituto Pedagógico - IP como o principal órgão de ensino no cumprimento dessa política. O artigo começa abordando sobre os desafios da formação docente na contemporaneidade e a necessidade de um entendimento da formação no seu sentido mais largo e profundo e, portanto como basilar do processo educativo. Seguidamente, é caracterizada a formação dos professores do Ensino Básico em Cabo Verde, fazendo uma pequena retrospectiva dos desafios de formação dos seus professores no período anterior à sua independência até esta se efetivar, a análise da consonância das ações do IP com o Plano Estratégico de Educação para amenizar o problema da falta de professores formados atuando no Ensino Básico. Para atingir estes objetivos utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo. Conclui-se o artigo com o entendimento de que, além de ser aligeirada a formação dos professores do Ensino Básico Cabo-verdianohá um tipo de interesse que não está a favor da evolução da consciência humana e especificamente da emancipação do indivíduo.ABSTRACT: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the policy of training teachers of Basic Education in Cape Verde, and the Pedagogical Institute - IP as the main organ of education in compliance with this policy. The articles begin by discussing the challenges of teacher training in contemporary and an understanding of the need for training in its broadest sense, understand deep, and carrying it as basic education process. Is then characterized the training of teachers of basic education in Cape Verde, doing a little background of the challenges of teacher education in Cape Verde since even before independence is part of the analysis of the Education Strategic Plan in line with the actions of IP alleviate the shortage of trained teachers who acting in elementary school, to achieve the goal of the analysis used content analysis. It concluded with the understanding, as well as being lighter training for teachers in primary Cape Verde reveals a kind of interest that is not in favor the evolution of human consciousness and specifically with the emancipation of the individual.
