Kneading the clay: career and remuneration of the professionals of the magisterium, in three municipalities in the interior of São Paulo in the context of Fundeb

Resumo: The quality of teachers, closely associated with remuneration, is a decisive factor in the quality of education. However, in Brazil, the devaluation of these professionals still prevails, either due to low pay or to an unattractive career. Thus, the present study analyzes three municipalities in the interior of São Paulo in the context of Fundeb, considering the relationships between remuneration, spending on education, and other indicators. Although they are close municipalities, and with similarities, the results indicate important differences in remuneration and career that are related to the expenditure/student, but also with factors such as the degree of municipalization, dependence on Fundeb, the presence of agreements with the private network and the size of the municipality.

Cependant, au Brésil, la dévaluation de ces professionnels prévaut toujours, soit en raison d’un faible salaire, soit pour une carrière peu attrayante. Ainsi, la présente étude analyse trois municipalités de l’intérieur de São Paulo dans le cadre de Fundeb, en tenant compte des relations entre la rémunération, les dépenses d’éducation et d’autres indicateurs. Bien qu’il s’agit de municipalités proches et de similitudes, les résultats indiquent d’importantes différences de rémunération et de carrière liées aux dépenses/étudiants, mais aussi à des facteurs tels que le degré de municipalisation, la dépendance à l’égard du Fundeb, la présence d’ententes avec le réseau privé et la taille de la municipalité.A qualidade dos professores, intimamente associada à remuneração, é fator decisivo na qualidade do ensino. No entanto, no Brasil, prevalece ainda a desvalorização desses profissionais, seja pela baixa remuneração, seja pela carreira pouco atrativa. Assim, o presente estudo faz uma análise de três municípios do interior paulista no contexto do Fundeb, considerando as relações existentes entre a remuneração, os gastos com educação, além de outros indicadores.
