Educacional policy for immigrants and refugees and the role of civil Society: the case study of São Paulo city.

This article aims to comprehend the role of civil society organizations, composed by immigrants and refuges, in discussions about political education. As such, it is conducted a case study regarding São Paulo’s context. The research methodology is funded on the analysis fo documents from the Municipal Conference on Policies for Immigrants, held in 2015 and 2019 in the aforementioned city. As theoretical framework, it is used Luiz Carlos Bresser Pereira’s concept of civil society and Pierre Bordieu’s concept of field and habitus. It is concluded that there is a growing participation of civil society in discussions about education and migration, in a direct relation with the State, involving immigrants and refugees in the debate on the formulation of educational policies.
