Resumo: | We discuss in this article the conditions and existential consequences of chronic pain in patients who suffer from two infirmities, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. The anthropological and psychoanalytic literature indicates to us that pain does not come simply from an organic, physical-bodily process, as medicine so often - and even today - tries to understand it. Our thesis is that pain, in certain cases (especially in the case of fibromyalgia), at the same time that it nuances a rupture in the relations with the world due to physical limitations, is also the result of an alienation of the being from the world, an attempt, on the part of the subject, to purge himself from reality in view of his nullification of the desire to be. Besides presenting a theoretical argumentation – in the wake of psychoanalysis and phenomenology – regarding these processes, we will see, henceforth, how places can constitute a point of reconnection of the aborted relation between being and the world, and how the subject can recover from the lamentations of its chronicity. A recovery opens up for these patients in this reconstitution of the ontological bond of being-in-the-world, rekindling, through the place, the desire to be. |

A recovery opens up for these patients in this reconstitution of the ontological bond of being-in-the-world, rekindling, through the place, the desire to be.Discutimos neste artigo as condições e consequências existenciais da problemática da dor crônica em pacientes que sofrem com duas enfermidades, a saber, a artrite reumatoide e a fibromialgia.
