Resumo: Through the university extension project "Interações e Saberes: Ensino de História, Alfabetização e Letramento em Escola Rural" in which I took part from August 2016 to March 2017, at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, some questions about historical time and historical consciousness were raised. The initial objective that generated this research was to understand how children of the first years of elementary school understand time in its various meanings. From this, we tried to think about didactic ways to start present to these children concepts such as historical time or historical consciousness. Thus, in this graduating work, we deal with problems that arose during the participation in the extension project at the Centro Municipal de Nucleação Educacional Rural José Barbosa de Miranda in the city of Indianapolis, starting from the verification of the possibilities of teaching and learning in the face of difficulties found.
