The Internet changed the way people relate to each other, bringing a range of possibilities never experienced in the history of mankind. The huge virtual universe, brought the sensation that emerged a world without rules. There by, na amount of violations began to be practiced, among them, and the focus of this work, copyright infringement. The protection of copyright is really important to society, including the cyberspace, however, Brazilian legislation is still deficient in reference of the regulation of copyright infringement. Thus, in the course of this work, a comparative analysis will be made between the national legislation of copyright infringement on the Internet and the legal framework of the United States of America and the European Union, with the aim of a critical reflection about the Brazilian treatment about the subject, in order to contribute with the construction of the copyright law in the virtual scope.
