"Não conheço e nem quero conhecer": as percepções da vizinhança de um CAPSad sobre o serviço e seus usuários

The Psychosocial Care Centers were born with the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform (RPB) and the AD modality is based on the logic of Harm Reduction and territorial care, making it a challenge to transform the relationship between the service and society, to reduce stigmatization of users. Thus, this research sought to investigate how the neighborhood of CAPSad in the city of Uberlândia perceives the treatment offered in the service and its target audience. Qualitative research was carried out, based on audio-recorded interviews, with people who live around the CAPSad service or work in local businesses and thematic analysis after transcription. 11 people (24-83 years old) were interviewed, who lived or worked in the neighborhood and the following categories stand out: I) The user under the stigma of criminal drug addiction and CAPSad as unknown: most of the interviewees demonstrated a perspective stigmatized CAPS user, associating them with crime, in addition to not knowing the service; II) The CAPSad user and professional-charitable assistance: some interviewees perceive the service in a charitable way; III) Treatments for substance abuse: there is greater knowledge about Therapeutic Communities and their asylum operation is often preferable by some interviewees. Thus, installed in the neighborhood for years, CAPSad is unknown and its imagined actions are far from the logic of Harm Reduction. The stigmatized perspective of the CAPS user by the community intensifies the distance between the community and the service, a process accompanied by support for asylum institutions.
