Resumo: | This study was conducted based on a literature review that examines the relationship between art, human development, psychology and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from the perspective of the historical-cultural approach. In addition to the literature review, the text describes an experience report from a professional internship in school psychology as part of the project "Autism, Art and Culture”. With a particular focus on Vigotski's theories, the work recognizes that the manifestations of ASD are diverse, as it is a spectrum. Based on the historical-cultural approach, it emphasizes the importance of understanding the human being as a social being and disability as a human condition and questioning social structures. It takes into account that development and learning take place by means of social interaction, the transmission of signs and the internalization of meanings. From the perspective that development and education are intertwined, understanding disability as a human condition means questioning how social environments are structured, organized, and designed to accommodate and deal with different specificities. Thus, this work discusses various concepts from the studied theory and how professionals in the educational field should consider them when planning their interventions with this population. The work also explores the laws governing the rights of people with ASD. Finally, the research explores art as a cultural object and a mediating tool in the psychological care of children with ASD. It seeks to answer how and why this tool can be an effective instrument, exploring the intersections between art and disabilities and understanding the construction of experiences, development of skills, interaction, and communication – crucial issues for individuals with the disorder. |
