Resumo: The central focus of the article is to make an analysis about the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the city of Uberlândia, in the period between the years 2013 to 2020, in order to understand the impact of this factor on the process of internationalization of the city, as well as its influence on the other factors of internationalization of cities coined by Panayotis Soldatos. To this end, the concepts of paradiplomacy and multilevel governance will be considered, in order to understand the roles of the various actors involved in this process. In addition, quantitative and qualitative data on FDI in the city will be exposed, addressing the variables that influence this pattern of attraction, examples of investiments performed, as well as their importance and consequences, in the light of John Harry Dunning's Eclectic Theory.
