Resumo: This work lias (br base the research aboul lhe intcrcalation proeess olthe dves aiiiaranth and erythrosiue with DNA. We present our results of an investigation of intcrcalation compound fomiation between calf thymus DNA and these colorants, frerpientlv used food colorants in Brazil. Compounds formation were accompanied by UV/Vis, electrophoreses in agarose gel and terbium(III) fluorescence as cliemical probe for DNA. Compared fo pine DNA, saniples in lhe presence of lhe colora»! show a increase in absorbance. Simultaneously, colorants absorbance's decreased. These results suggesl that colorants are incorporatcd into the DNA nnclcotide. A fluorcsccncc spectrum is showed and the results suggesl lhe sites occupied by aniaranth are the sanie as those occupied by terbiuin(III). Since the terbium probe fluorescence is priniarily due to the guanine bounding, we can conclude lliat aniaranth intercalate in DNA mainly occupying the guanine site Eletrophoreses attested DNA integrity abei its inlcraclion with aniaranth and erythrosiue.

Nós apresentamos nossos resultados da investigação da Formação de compostos de intercalaçào entre DNA de limo de bezeno l estes corantes, usados normalmente como corantes alimentícios no Brasil. A formação destes compostos Foram acompanhadas por IJV/Vis, eletroforese em gel agarose e lluorecència de térbioí III) como sonda química para DNA. Comparando-se com o DNA puro, as amostras na presença dos corantes apresentam um aumento na absorção. Simultaneamente, as absorções dos corantes diminuem. Estes resultados sugerem que os corantes são incorporados ao nucleotideo do DNA. E mostrado um espectro de fluorescência e os rc i.dlado ' aigerem os 'dli-' •. ocupados pelo amaranto são os mesmos que aqueles ocupados p.'<o térbioí 1111 U rv \cz que a Fluorescência da sonda tcrbio c piiucipa,mente decido a ligação guarrin > nós podemos concluir que o amaranto in’eicala com o DNA ocupando piincipalmente o sítio da guanina.
