Mathematical analysis for simulation of incompressible fluid flow

Resumo: The omnipresence and complexity of physical phenomena drive the strong search for tools capable of simulating them, since many applications require computationally viable, reliable and, preferably, low-cost simulations. Thus, a priori, this work has two objectives: i) understand the theoretical foundations of fluid dynamics with an important computational method aimed at simulating incompressible flows, called SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic), which will subsequently be implemented; and ii) assist in the consolidation and application of key concepts in mathematical analysis for computer simulation. Our efforts in this work provide mathematical foundations, which in turn, describe the dynamics of fluid dynamic motion.

Así, a priori, este trabajo tiene dos objetivos: i) comprender los fundamentos teóricos de la dinámica de fluidos con un importante método computacional destinado a simular flujos incompresibles, denominado SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic), que posteriormente será implementado; y ii) ayudar en la consolidación y aplicación de conceptos clave en análisis matemático para simulación por computadora. Nuestros esfuerzos en este trabajo proporcionan fundamentos matemáticos que, a su vez, describen la dinámica del movimiento fluidodinámico.L’omniprésence et la complexité des phénomènes physiques conduisent à une forte recherche d’outils capables de les simuler, car de nombreuses applications nécessitent des simulations informatiquement viables, fiables et, de préférence, peu coûteuses. Ainsi, a priori, ce travail poursuit deux objectifs : i) comprendre les fondements théoriques de la dynamique des fluides avec une importante méthode de calcul visant à simuler des écoulements incompressibles, appelée SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic), qui sera par la suite implémentée ; et ii) aider à la consolidation et à l'application des concepts clés de l'analyse mathématique pour la simulation informatique.
