Use of Construct 2® platform in the continuing training of teachers on virtual educational games

Resumo: This work describes a university extension course for continuing training of teachers on use of the Construct 2® platform, aiming at the creation of virtual games to support the teaching and learning of Science in Elementary and High School. The course was carried out via Google Meet and the teachers created electronic games on topics such as History of Chemistry, Nuclear Physics and Nutrition, thus experiencing the design and development of an alternative teaching methodology, as well as its application in classroom, on the road to a playful approach and a meaningful learning of Science-related contents. Teachers have been trained to make up their own technological teaching material, expanding their understanding on promising applications of electronic games in Education, as well as resignifying their pedagogical practices. Thus, results from this work reinforce the importance of university extension for the continuing training of teachers working in Basic Education.

El curso fue a través de Google Meet y los profesores aprendieron a desarrollar juegos electrónicos que involucran temas como Historia de la Química, Física Nuclear y Nutrición. Los docentes experimentaron la concepción de una metodología didáctica alternativa, así como su uso y aplicación en el aula, buscando un acercamiento lúdico a las Ciencias y un aprendizaje significativo de los contenidos. Además de capacitar a los docentes para crear sus propios juegos electrónicos educativos, este artículo refuerza la importancia de la extensión universitaria para la formación continua de los docentes que actúan en la Educación Básica.Este trabalho descreve um curso de extensão universitária para formação continuada de professores no emprego da plataforma Construct 2®, visando à criação de jogos virtuais para suporte ao ensino e aprendizagem de Ciências nos Ensinos Fundamental e Médio. O curso foi ministrado via Google Meet e os docentes criaram jogos eletrônicos envolvendo temas como História da Química, Física Nuclear e Nutrição, vivenciando a concepção e desenvolvimento de uma metodologia alternativa de ensino, bem como sua aplicação em sala de aula, na busca de uma abordagem lúdica e de uma aprendizagem significativa dos conteúdos. Os professores foram capacitados a elaborar seu próprio material didático tecnológico, ampliando sua compreensão sobre as aplicações promissoras de jogos eletrônicos na Educação e ressignificando suas práticas pedagógicas.
