Research-action-training with rural youth: contexts, paths and findings

Resumo: The rural youth have strained the development of public policies to consider the "countryside with people", bringing up discussions like the permanence of young people in the countryside, Agroecology, Solidarity Economy and Rural Education. The objective here is to discuss the actions developed during an undergraduate research project focused on the promotion of educational processes with rural youth. The methodology adopted was Action-Research and the target audience was young people from the rural community called Alto Isabel. The intervention consisted of: an exchange of experiences and workshops in rural educational territories; building a collective vegetable garden and conducting interviews. The young people showed a strong sense of belonging to the countryside, but a tendency to distance themselves from production on the land. Thus, it is important to carry out training actions that reflect the life project of rural youth, covering the different possibilities of working, professionalizing and living in the countryside.

El objetivo aquí es discutir las acciones desarrolladas durante la implementación de un proyecto de iniciación científica, centrado en el fomento de procesos formativos con jóvenes rurales. La metodología adoptada fue la Investigación-Acción y el público fueron jóvenes de la comunidad rural Alto Isabel. La intervención consistió en: intercambio de experiencias y talleres en territorios educativos rurales; construcción de una huerta colectiva y entrevistas. Los jóvenes mostraron una fuerte pertenencia al campo, pero una tendencia a distanciarse de la producción en la tierra. Así, se torna importante la realización de acciones formativas que reflexionen sobre el proyecto de vida de los jóvenes rurales, abarcando las diferentes posibilidades de trabajar, profesionalizarse y vivir en el campo.As juventudes rurais têm tensionado a criação de políticas públicas para se pensar o “campo com gente”, emergindo discussões como a permanência do jovem no campo, Agroecologia, Economia Solidária e Educação do Campo. O objetivo, aqui, é discutir sobre as ações desenvolvidas durante um projeto de iniciação científica focado no fomento de processos formativos com jovens rurais. A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa-ação e o público os jovens da comunidade rural Alto Isabel. A intervenção consistiu em: realização de um intercâmbio de experiências e oficinas em territórios educativos do campo; construção de horta coletiva e realização de entrevistas. Os jovens apresentaram forte pertencimento ao campo, mas uma tendência de afastamento com a produção na terra.
