Resumo: Evaluate the nutritional value of diets with different fiber sources of forage source, with equivalent physically effective fiber, for dairy goats. Were used ninety-six dairy goats, with days in lactation exceeding 55 days, body weight of 51 ± 7.7 kg and average milk production of 2.2 kg. day-1, distributed in a completely randomized design in factorial 3x2, to evaluate the effects of three fiber sources: tifton hay, corn silage , alfalfa hay and two kidding order (primiparous and multiparous with kidding order of 2 or 3). Each source of fiber was subjected to four housed, two housed of primiparous and two multiparous housed, totaling 12 experimental housed. The higher dry matter (DM) intake for corn silage was also the intake of nutrients: crude protein, ether extract, non-fibrous carbohydrate, total carbohydrate, and neutral detergent fiber (NDF), except the intake of acid detergent lignin, for which corn silage diets showcased intermediate value, differing from the alfalfa hay, which was superior, and the tifton hay, which was inferior. The digestibility of DM and nutrients suffered effect of diets, so that the alfalfa hay showed all their lower values and the hay and corn silage tifton with higher values, except the NDF digestibility for corn silage that did not differ from the FDN of alfalfa hay. The average time of retention did not differ, but there was evidence for a reduction in the average time of retention of forage alfalfa hay diet. Corn silage has increased rumination and tifton hay, the shortest time of rumination, while the longest was for feeding alfalfa hay and tifton. There was statistical effect for kidding order in rumination, feeding, chewing activity and idling times, in which primiparous were higher than multiparous except for idling times. Feeding time per kg NDF was greater for alfalfa hay and corn silage for less. Already in rumination, the animals spent higher rumination time for Kg DM and the kg NDF of corn silage, while the tifton hay diet was the shortest rumination time per kg NDF. With the effect of kidding order , primiparous were more efficient than multiparous both in feeding and rumination. It is concluded that the quality of diet fiber in diets with similar fiber content, showing equivalent physical effective fiber, influence on physiological responses and ingestive behavior of lactating goats.

It is concluded that the quality of diet fiber in diets with similar fiber content, showing equivalent physical effective fiber, influence on physiological responses and ingestive behavior of lactating goats.
