Resumo: The aim of this work is feature and evaluate the genetic divergence of seventy okra accessions from the Vegetable Germplasm Bank of Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV-BGH) and select potential progenitors, the evaluation was by predictive processes and performance per se. Diallel crossing was used to evaluate the general ability and specific of combination and heterosis values as ability to present economic interest according to agronomic point of view. The select hybrids intend to study the behavior per se in different environments as evaluate the genotype by environment (GxA) and identify the phenotypic stability. On total six experiments were made, the first experiment was conducted between September 2010 and February 2011, the second between January and June 2011, the third between September 2011 and February 2012, the fourth on January to June 2013 and the last two, fifth and sixth between September 2013 and January 2014. All the descriptors observed during the characterization and the seventy okra accessions early studied there was variability, and based on the qualitative descriptors and inverted sum of qualitative descriptors on economic interest, nine accessions became selected as potential progenitors during the first stage of this work: BGH-132, BGH-547, BGH-693, BGH-740, BGH-961, BGH-7863, BGH-7865, BGH-3196 and BGH- 4890. Have been estimated from the general and specific ability of combination, 36 heterosis hybrids starting from the nine progenitors. Among these was possible to observe the majority of square average CGC as CEC for all the studied descriptors, and the progenitor BGH-0961 presented positive values for CGC and higher averages for all the evaluated descriptors. The AGR 04, AGR 08, AGR 11, AGR 15, AGR 18, AGR 19, AGR 28 and AGR 32 hybrids was selected by commercial tests, once higher with CEC and heterosis values. The study of per se fulfillment hybrids from different environments and interaction evaluation of genotype by environment (GxA) to identify hybrids phenotype stability, was possible observe different behaviors among the studied environment, thereby allowing a possible indication of hybrids cultivation replicating the regional conditions where the experiments were conducted, therefore representative regions on both places, with emphasis for AGR 28 and AGR 32 hybrids, wherefore high averages were obtained in the high phenotypic stability environments.
