Resumo: | Two experiments were accomplished in the Aviculture Sector of the Animal Science Department of the Federal University of Viçosa in order to evaluate the performance of broilers fed with diets added with an enzymatic complex and the effect on the values of metabolizable energy and phosphorus and nitrogenous balance of diets supplemented with the enzymatic complex. In the first experiment were used 960 Cobb male broilers from 1 to 42 days old in a complete randomized experimental design, being 6 treatments in a factorial arrangement 3 x 2 (three nutritional levels with or without inclusion of enzyme complex) with eight replicates and 20 broilers/replicate. The reference diet (nutritional level 1) was formulated according the Brazilian Tables to attempt the nutrients needs of poultry. The others diets (nutritional levels 2 and 3) had reductions on the levels of available phosphorus, metabolizable energy and amino acids considering the valorization of 100% and 150% of the enzymatic complex nutritional matrix. The inclusion of the enzymatic complex (200 gram/ton) resulted in better performance of the broilers, mainly for weight gain (4%) and feed:gain ratio (3%). In the second experiment the traditional method of total excreta collection was used with 240 animals, distributed in the same treatments as the first experiment, but with 8 replicates and 5 birds per replicate. There was significant interaction (P>0.05) between diet and enzymatic complex for phosphorus intake, nitrogen intake, nitrogen retained and percentage of nitrogen retained. The enzymatic complex positively affects the value of metabolizable energy and the balance of phosphorus. The use of the enzymatic complex was efficient, improving in 2.02% the use of nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolizable energy. It was also effective on the balances of phosphorus and nitrogen, providing an increase of 10.26% on the phosphorus retention, a 3.30% reduction on nitrogen excretion and increase of 5.30% on the nitrogen retention. |

It was also effective on the balances of phosphorus and nitrogen, providing an increase of 10.26% on the phosphorus retention, a 3.30% reduction on nitrogen excretion and increase of 5.30% on the nitrogen retention.
