Resumo: This study addresses goal 19 of the National Education Plan (PNE) 2014-2024 and the democratic pedagogical practices present in Brazilian basic education schools, with the aim of relating them to the effective participation of the community in school management. The research, bibliographic and documentary, was directed to the necessary mediation to materialize the teaching actions, which have an indispensable role for democracy to prevail in educational spaces and in society. It appears that the democratic school process, when belonging to the collective, must, as a social instance, to be assumed as such.

La investigación, bibliográfica y documental, se encaminó a la mediación necesaria para materializar las acciones docentes, que tiene un papel indispensable para que la democracia prevalezca en los espacios educativos y en la sociedad. Parece que el proceso escolar democrático, al pertenecer al colectivo, debe, como instancia social, ser asumido como tal.O presente estudo aborda a meta 19 do Plano Nacional de Educação (PNE) 2014-2024 e as práticas pedagógicas democráticas presentes nas escolas de educação básica brasileiras, com objetivo de relacioná-las à participação da comunidade na gestão escolar. A pesquisa, bibliográfica e documental, foi direcionada à mediação necessária para se concretizar as ações docentes, que possuem papel indispensável para a democracia prevalecer nos espaços educativos e na sociedade.
