Towards the Learning Society: analysis of ICTs and educational skills

Resumo: In this article we analyse certain elements of the educational reforms of the 1990s, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education and the adoption of a competence-based teaching-learning model. The objectives of this article are to analyse these elements related to the aforementioned reforms and to propose a series of key principles to guide teaching towards a learning society. We conclude that school-based educational institutions can be considered, in their nature and mode of operation, institutions characteristic of modernity, whose students, however, present and demand features of post-modernity.

Los objetivos del mismo son analizar estos elementos relacionados con las mencionadas reformas y proponer una serie de principios clave para orientar la enseñanza hacia una sociedad del aprendizaje. Concluimos que las instituciones educativas escolares pueden ser consideradas, en su naturaleza y modo de funcionamiento, instituciones propias de la modernidad, cuyo alumnado, sin embargo, presenta y demanda rasgos de la postmodernidad.Dans cet article, nous analysons certains éléments des réformes éducatives des années 1990, le rôle des technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC) dans l'éducation et l'adoption d'un modèle d'enseignement et d'apprentissage basé sur les compétences. Les objectifs de cet article sont d'analyser ces éléments liés aux réformes susmentionnées et de proposer une série de principes clés pour guider l'enseignement vers une société cognitive. Nous concluons que les établissements d'enseignement scolaire peuvent être considérés, dans leur nature et leur mode de fonctionnement, comme des institutions caractéristiques de la modernité, dont les étudiants présentent et exigent cependant des caractéristiques de la post-modernité.Neste artigo, analisamos alguns elementos das reformas educativas dos anos 90, o papel das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) na educação e a adoção de um modelo de ensino-aprendizagem baseado em competências. Os objetivos deste artigo são analisar estes elementos relacionados com as reformas acima mencionadas e propor uma série de princípios-chave para orientar o ensino para uma sociedade cognitiva.
