Forming educators for work in hospitals: The experience of the School of Education at the University of Brasilia

Resumo: This article presents the experience of the Pedagogy Course of the University of Brasilia, whose structure offers curricular spaces to students interested in deepening their studies in the area of Hospital Pedagogy and the care for hospitalized children and youth. It addresses issues related to skills and abilities required for the teacher of Hospital Classes and the need for technical and scientific training, for the teaching and educational practice as a member of a multidisciplinary team at a hospital. Finally, it considers the University as the ideal environment for the training of such professionals.

Finally, it considers the University as the ideal environment for the training of such professionals.Este artículo presenta la experiencia del curso de pedagogía de la Universidad de Brasília, cuya estructura brinda la posibilidad a alumnos y alumnas espacios curriculares para la profundización de estudios en el área de la pedagogía hospitalaria para la atención a niños y jóvenes hospitalizados. Aborda cuestiones relacionadas a las competencias y habilidades exigidas al profesor de clases hospitalarias y la necesidad de formación técnico-científica para la práctica pedagógico-educacional como miembro del equipo multidisciplinario en el hospital. Concluye que existen conocimientos específicos indispensables para el profesor en el trabajo pedagógico del hospital, que deben ser considerados en los cursos de formación de profesores de grado y postgrado. Al final, considera la universidad como el ambiente apropiado para la formación de este profesional.Este artigo apresenta a experiência do curso de pedagogia da Universidade de Brasília, cuja estrutura oportuniza aos alunos e alunas espaços curriculares para aprofundamento de estudos na área da pedagogia hospitalar e o atendimento acrianças e jovens hospitalizados. Aborda questões relacionadas às competências e habilidades necessárias aos professores de classes hospitalares bem como a necessidade de formação técnico-científica para a prática pedagógico-educacional enquanto membro da equipe multidisciplinar no hospital. Conclui que existem conhecimentos específicos indispensáveis ao trabalho pedagógico no hospital, que devem ser considerados nos cursos de formação de professores em nível de graduação e pós-graduação.
