Resumo: The present article analyzes Giacomo Leopardi reception in the Brazilian written press of the 20th century, specially during 1910 to 1935, from the “Dialogo di un venditore di almanacchi e di un passeggere” occurrences, published in the Operette morali (The Moral Essays). The search was done in electronic archives of the Brazilian Digital Newspapers Archive (https://bndigital.bn.gov.br/hemeroteca-digital/) and the results led us to four translations of the dialogue, which were published using different strategies. Thus, this article presents and analyzes theses different strategies considering aspects of the press materiality and its relation to translation, based on reflections of Nelson Werneck Sodré (1977), Luc V. Doorslaer (2009), Patrícia Wilson (2004) e Karen Litau (2016), Gerard Genette (2009) e Marie-Hélène Torres (2011).

A pesquisa foi realizada nos arquivos eletrônicos da Hemeroteca Brasileira Digital (https://bndigital.bn.gov.br/hemeroteca-digital/) e o resultado nos levou a quatro traduções do diálogo, por isso este artigo apresenta e analisa as diferentes estratégias dessas traduções a partir de aspectos da materialidade da imprensa e a sua relação com a tradução, tendo como base as  reflexões de Nelson Werneck Sodré (1977), Luc V.
