Resumo: At the end of 2015, the Rasic Group, owner of the second chicken producer in Argentina, paralyzes the production of the plant known as Cresta Roja leaving its employees on the street and owing several months of salary. The employees decide to establish a picket i the Riccheri highway, the main access road to the Ministro Pistarini International Airport, awaiting answers from both the company and government. While the conflict is developing, a huge amount of animals are locked up without food or water so various non-governmental animal organizations decide to intervene and, through a rescue plan, they manage to release some animals. The coverage that the media gave to the conflict focused particularly on the human social side, giving almost no space for the animal organizations that developed the rescue. In order to propose a possible approach to the study of gestures as part of the perspective known as Multimodality, this work aims to analyze the construction of the speciesist positioning in a presentation of the program Esta Tarde, broadcast by the channel CN23, in which it interviewed an activist of the NGO Animal Libre. The analysis will adopt the theoretical framework of Critical Discourse Analysis from a perspective of multimodal analysis, taking the proposal of the Social Semiotics of Hodge and Kress (1988) and will use the tools proposed by these authors (1979), for the assignment of thematic papers and description of processes in the verbal material, together with the elements systematized by Kress and van Leeuwen (1996) for the analysis of images in addition to the tools proposed by Ekman (2003) and Kendon (2004) for facial expressions and gestures.
