Este estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar a concepção dos discentes de instituições de ensino superior sobre a disciplina Libras e como ela pode repercutir na formação profissional desses discentes de acordo com a teoria sócio-antropológica da surdez, entendendo que o sujeito surdo tem uma língua própria que o permite interagir com o mundo e estabelecer relação com os outros, criando assim valores e códigos que constituem sua cultura. O foco deste trabalho foram os discentes da disciplina, considerando que estes serão os profissionais que atuarão para o cumprimento da Lei de Libras, que discorre sobre a difusão e uso da Libras na sociedade como um todo, mas com ênfase nos ambientes educacionais. Foram pesquisados 96 alunos da disciplina Libras de 2 instituições de ensino superior do Distrito Federal. Os dados foram coletados com a aplicação de um questionário com perguntas abertas e fechadas. Os resultados apontaram o perfil do aluno da disciplina como estudante universitário com idade entre 20 e 25 anos, cursando do 3º ao 6º semestre de cursos da área de humanas. Demonstram também que a carga horária da disciplina é considerada insuficiente ou regular, mas que a maioria dos estudantes finaliza o curso se sentindo capaz de se comunicar em nível básico com surdos, mas sem compreender questões relevantes sobre a comunidade surda como sua história. Conclui-se então que a disciplina Libras necessita de uma estruturação curricular que contemple um aprofundamento não só no ensino da língua como também nos aspectos culturais da comunidade surda. Faz-se necessário repensar como as Instituições de Ensino Superior - IES tem se posicionado perante a legislação vigente, já que a disciplina cumpre requisitos legais, mas ainda não cumpre plenamente requisitos sociais. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis paper deals with the Brazilian Sign Language - Libras as a discipline in undergraduate higher education. This study's main objective is to analyze the perceptions of college students about the discipline Libras and how it can affect the training of these students according to socio-anthropological theory of deafness, understanding that the deaf subject has its own language that allows you to interact with the world and establish relationships with others, creating values and codes that represent their culture. The focus of this work were the students of the discipline, considering that these will be professionals who will work to comply with the Libras Act, which discusses the dissemination and use of Libras in society as a whole, but with emphasis on educational settings. We surveyed 96 students of the discipline Libras of 2 higher education institutions of the Distrito Federal. The database were collected with the application of a questionnaire with open and closed questions. The results showed the student of this discipline profile as a college student aged between 20 and 25 years, attending the 3rd to 6th semester in courses of the humanities. They also demonstrate that the workload of the course is deemed insufficient or regular, but most students complete the course feeling able to communicate with deaf people at a basic level, but without understanding issues relevant to the deaf community such as their history. It is concluded that the discipline Libras needs a curricular structure that includes a depth not only in language teaching but also the cultural aspects of the deaf community.
