Para o efetivo alcance do objetivo central, a investigação baseou-se na técnica da pesquisa qualitativa, sendo realizadas nove entrevistas semi-estruturadas com graduandos cotistas inseridos no Projeto Afroatitude. A partir da análise dos dados, constatou-se que o projeto em questão, se constitui em instrumento viabilizador da permanência na graduação de alguns estudantes cotistas e desempenha papel estratégico no processo de construção da identidade negra e reflexões sobre a temática racial. Neste sentido, os cotistas reconhecem a importância da participação nos movimentos negros, uma vez que tais movimentos combatem o racismo sua manifestação e suas consequências. Além disso, reivindicam a implementação das políticas de ações afirmativas, enquanto possibilidade imediata de inserção da população negra no ensino superior. Em relação às ações afirmativas, os estudantes afirmam a importância de cotas raciais, apesar de alguns entrevistados reforçarem à questão do recorte social e da pobreza, ao invés da cor. Os cotistas demonstraram que em alguma medida são vistos de forma diferente pelos estudantes não cotistas, mas reconhecem que a inserção no Projeto Afroatitude auxiliou no entendimento sobre as cotas como direito da população negra. For the effectiveness of the central objective, the research was based on the technique of qualitative research, being conducted nine semi-structured interviews with unitholder students inserted in the Project Afroatitude. From data’s analysis, it was found that the project concerned constitutes an instrument that makes possible the continuance of the students in the graduation of and plays a strategic role in the construction of black identity and reflections on the race issue. In this sense, the unitholders recognize the importance of their participation in the black movements, since such movements fight racism, it’s manifestation and it’s consequences. Furthermore, they claim the implementation of affirmative action policies, while immediate possibility of inserting the black population in higher education. With respect to affirmative action, students affirm the importance of racial quotas, although some interviewed reinforce the question of social divisions and poverty, instead of color. The unitholders have shown that in some occasions they are seen as different from the others students who are not unitholders, but recognize that the inclusion in the Project Afroatitude helped them understanding the extent of the right of the black population.
