Suas inovações atingem o campo denominado como Método intuitivo, o qual compreende a criança como sujeito ativo em seu processo de aprendizagem. Sendo assim, propõe por meio do contato direto com os objetos, sua melhor abstração para um real conhecimento, partindo sempre do conhecido para o desconhecido. Outro componente presente na abordagem utilizada pelo Educador é o elemento amor, principalmente aquele oriundo da mãe, entendida como a primeira educadora da criança e depois os professores, pois o desabrochar das potencialidades surgirá por meio da prática educacional exercida pelo educador ao favorecer um clima espiritual positivo, manifestado em forma de benevolência, entusiasmo e compreensão, que suscitarão na criança o sentimento de reciprocidade e ao mesmo tempo incitando o seu potencial de desenvolvimento moral e intelectual. Além disso, procura estabelecer a relação que desenvolve conjuntamente o tríplice aspecto: intelectual, moral e profissional, os quais formam a plenitude do individuo enquanto ser autônomo. A presente pesquisa utilizou o método exploratório e envolveu participantes do curso de Pedagogia da Universidade de Brasília, a coordenadora da Associação Pestalozzi e duas professoras. Os resultados indicam que os participantes desconhecem o trabalho que o Educador exerceu assim como sua contribuição para a educação. A conclusão do trabalho assinala que muitas das idéias e princípios utilizados por Pestalozzi encontram-se presentes nas práticas atuais de ensino, contudo enriquecidas pelas contribuições de teóricos renomados na construção do pensamento pedagógico. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTDuring the Eighteenth Century, in Switzerland, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, became acknowledged for his research and experiments on the process of Teaching, breaking off from the traditional teaching methods. His Innovations go all the way to a field known as the Intuitive Method, which acknowledges the child as an active subject in the learning process. And so, the method proposes by a means of direct contact with objects, their improved abstraction, in order to reach real knowledge, going always from somewhere known to the unknown. Another component present in the educator’s approach is the element of love, taken as essential educational practice, especially the one originated from the mother, taking her role as the child’s first educator and then their first teachers, for the blooming of the potentialities will emerge by means of the educational practice performed by the educator in order to provide a positive spiritual feeling, expressed in the form of benevolence, enthusiasm and comprehension, that will raise in the child the feeling of reciprocity and at the same time inciting their potential of moral and intellectual development. And more than that, it seeks to establish a relation hat develops simultaneously the triple aspect: intellectual, moral, and professional, which establishes the person as an autonomous being at its best. This current research has utilized an exploratory method and involved students of the Pedagogic course in the University of Brasilia, the coordinator of the Pestalozzi Association and two course teachers.
