The teaching of writing in the subjects of Study of the Environment and Natural Sciences, in Basic Education: the case of a justified answer

Resumo: | Is it possible to organize an explicit and systematic teaching of writing a justified answer (“resposta fundamentada”, in Portuguese) on the subjects of Study of the Environment or on Natural Sciences, in the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education, respectively? The purpose of our contribution is precisely to try to answer that question, thanks to a collaborative work, in the framework of a continuing teacher training, between a teacher-trainer-researcher and a group of teachers participating in this in-service training, and teaching these subjects in those schooling cycles. More specifically, this study of ours, developed within the framework of a still relatively recent field of research that crosses the Didactics of Language and the Professional Training of Teachers (DOLZ; PLANE, 2008; HOFSTETTER; SCHNEUWLY, 2009; BULEA; BRONCKART, 2010; GAGNON, 2010), comprised a collaboration that involved both the elaboration, in working groups, of a didactic sequence for the teaching of the aforementioned textual genre, and its implementation, by the teachers, in their classes. In this text, we will analyze, more specifically, the impact of the aforementioned didactic sequence on the quality of the written textual productions of the students of two teachers involved in the research. The results obtained showed very significant improvements. |

The results obtained showed very significant improvements.É possível organizar um ensino explícito e sistemático da escrita de uma resposta fundamentada nas disciplinas Estudo do Meio ou Ciências da Natureza, no 1o e no 2o ciclos do Ensino Básico, respectivamente? O objetivo desta nossa contribuição consiste, precisamente, em procurar dar uma resposta a tal pergunta, graças a um trabalho de colaboração, no quadro de uma formação contínua de professores, entre uma professora-formadora-investigadora e um conjunto de professores a participarem desta formação e a lecionarem tais disciplinas nos referidos ciclos de escolaridade. Mais especificamente, este nosso estudo, desenvolvido no quadro de um ainda relativamente recente campo de investigação que cruza a Didática da Língua e a Formação Profissional dos Professores (DOLZ; PLANE, 2008; HOFSTETTER; SCHNEUWLY, 2009; BULEA; BRONCKART, 2010; GAGNON, 2010), compreendeu uma colaboração que implicou a elaboração, em grupos de trabalho, de uma sequência didática para o ensino do mencionado gênero de texto e sua implementação pelos professores-formandos nas respectivas turmas. Neste nosso texto, analisaremos, mais especificamente, o impacto da referida sequência didática na qualidade das produções textuais escritas dos alunos de dois professores envolvidos na investigação.
