Teaching and affective life in prison: accounting for the Brazilian studies (2011-2021)

Resumo: The essay recovers the bibliographical productions produced between the years 2011 to 2021, with the aim of understanding how affective narratives about teaching in prisons are presented and interpreted. It is observed that the narratives presented by the professors point to certain professional challenges that trigger different emotions and allow us to see the complex and conflicting process of teaching in “classrooms”. In the end, it is argued that investigative efforts about the affective life of teachers can contribute to deepen the understanding of the logic of suffering and pleasure within prison.

Se observa que las narrativas presentadas apuntan a ciertos desafíos profesionales que desencadenan diferentes emociones y permiten ver el proceso complejo y conflictivo de la enseñanza en las “aulas”. Al final, se argumenta que los esfuerzos investigativos sobre la vida afectiva de los docentes pueden contribuir a profundizar la comprensión de la lógica del sufrimiento y el placer dentro de la prisión.O ensaio recupera as produções bibliográficas produzidas entre os anos de 2011 a 2021, com o objetivo de compreender como são apresentadas e interpretadas as narrativas afetivas sobre a docência nas prisões.
