Horizons of the struggle for universal public transport: the experience of Tarifa Zero

Resumo: It presents the results of a research about the Tarifa Zero Collective in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The research path started from militant co-research as a methodological choice in dialogue with the participating research. The survey results point to a desire to participate in destinations and decision-making processes in relation to the city, focusing on public issues. Two elements were central to the young people's speeches: 1. The widening of the sensitivity about the destinations of the city, arising from the learning provided by the participatory experience; 2. The right to urban mobility associated with the democratization of public transport based on the collective action.

El camino de la investigación partió de la co-investigación militante como una elección metodológica en diálogo con la investigación participante. Los resultados de la encuesta apuntan a un deseo de participar en los destinos y procesos de toma de decisiones en relación con la ciudad, centrándose en cuestiones públicas. Dos elementos fueron centrales en los discursos de los jóvenes: 1. La ampliación de la sensibilidad sobre los destinos de la ciudad, surgida del aprendizaje proporcionado por la experiencia participativa; 2. El derecho a la movilidad urbana asociado a la democratización del transporte público basado en la acción colectiva.Apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa sobre o Coletivo Tarifa Zero de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. O caminho da pesquisa partiu da copesquisa militante como escolha metodológica, em diálogo com a pesquisa participante. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam para um desejo de participar dos destinos e processos decisórios em relação à cidade, incidindo sobre as questões públicas. Dois elementos eram centrais nos discursos dos/as jovens: 1. O alargamento da sensibilidade sobre os destinos da urbe, advindo dos aprendizados propiciados pela experiência participativa; 2.
