The importance of cartographic literacy in Geography teaching

Resumo: | ABSTRACT: This article aims to present the organization of the activities developed in the Institutional Scholarship and Initiation Program (PIBID) of the State University of Alagoas (UNEAL) from 2018 to 2019, at Monsenhor Macedo State School. in the 3rd grade class in Cartography. There is always an interest in provoking critical thinking in students about teaching provided and applied in the classroom, especially regarding the use of maps in geography classes. This is why the importance of this language is emphasized, so that the subject understands with more meaning the construction, organization and reconstruction of the geographical space. In this sense, the main objective of the project was to make the student understand the factors of the cartographic base working with the information of the contents presented and discussed in the Geography in the classroom. From the imagination, reading and construction of maps it is possible to associate the real world with its representation in Cartography produced in the didactic material and even subtract from it other forms of interpretation. Thus, the work started from the deficiency presented by most students coming from the early grades of elementary school to high school, without understanding the true meaning of geographic information in relation to the teaching-learning of cartography in the classroom. It stands out in the observations collected in this work, as references to the part of the workshops, authors such as ALMEIDA (2011) and SIMIELLI (1991), besides the professor Dr. Ailton Feitosa, in playful activities that are not inserted in the school routine, bringing to the center. from their knowledge what the monotony of the textbook usually conceals. KEYWORDS: Cartography, PIBID, Teaching, Geography.Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar la organización de las actividades desarrolladas en el Programa Institucional de Becas e Iniciación a la Enseñanza (PIBID) de la Universidad Estatal de Alagoas (UNEAL) de 2018 a 2019, en la Escuela Estatal Monsenhor Macedo, en la clase. del 3er grado de secundaria en el ámbito de la cartografía. Siempre hay interés en provocar un pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes sobre la enseñanza impartida y aplicada en el aula, especialmente con respecto al uso de mapas en las clases de geografía. Por eso se enfatiza la importancia de este lenguaje, para que el sujeto entienda con más significado la construcción, organización y reconstrucción del espacio geográfico. En este sentido, el objetivo principal del proyecto era hacer que el alumno entendiera los factores de la base cartográfica trabajando con la información de los contenidos presentados y discutidos en la Geografía en el aula. Desde la imaginación, la lectura y la construcción de mapas es posible asociar el mundo real con su representación en Cartografía producida en el material didáctico e incluso restarle otras formas de interpretación. Por lo tanto, el trabajo comenzó a partir de la deficiencia presentada por la mayoría de los estudiantes desde los primeros grados de la escuela primaria hasta la secundaria, sin comprender el verdadero significado de la información geográfica en relación con la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la cartografía en el aula. Destaca en las observaciones recogidas en este trabajo, como referencias a la parte de los talleres, autores como ALMEIDA (2011) y SIMIELLI (1991), además del profesor Dr. Ailton Feitosa, en actividades lúdicas que no se insertan en la rutina escolar, trayendo al centro. por su conocimiento, lo que generalmente oculta la monotonía del libro de texto.RESUMO: O presente artigo tem como objetivo, apresentar a organização das atividades desenvolvidas no Programa Institucional de Bolsa e Iniciação à Docência (PIBID), da Universidade Estadual de Alagoas (UNEAL) durante o período de 2018 a 2019, na escola Estadual Monsenhor Macedo, na turma da 3ª série do Ensino Médio no âmbito da Cartografia. Sempre há o interesse em provocar o pensamento crítico nos alunos a respeito do ensino fornecido e aplicado em sala de aula, principalmente no que se refere ao uso de mapas nas aulas de Geografia. Isto, porquê, ressalta-se a importância dessa linguagem, para que o sujeito compreenda com mais significado a construção, organização e reconstrução do espaço geográfico. Nesse sentido, o principal objetivo do projeto foi fazer com que o aluno compreendesse os fatores da base cartográfica trabalhando com as informações dos conteúdos apresentados e discutidos na Geografia em sala de aula. A partir da imaginação, leitura e construção de mapas é possível associar o mundo real, com sua representação na Cartografia produzida no material didático e, até mesmo subtrair dela outras formas de interpretação. Assim, o trabalho partiu da deficiência apresentada por grande parte dos alunos que chegam das séries inicias do Ensino Fundamental ao Ensino Médio, sem compreender o verdadeiro significado das informações geográficas em relação ao ensino-aprendizagem da cartografia na sala de aula. Destaca-se nas observações colhidas neste trabalho, como referências à parte das oficinas, autores como ALMEIDA (2011) e SIMIELLI (1991), além do professor Dr. Ailton Feitosa, em atividades lúdicas que não estão inseridas na rotina escolar, trazendo ao centro de seus conhecimentos o que a monotonia do livro didático costuma esconder.
