In defense of “sex education”: meanings produced in videos by youtuber Felipe Neto

Resumo: | The article aims to present part of the analyzes of a master's research in education, focusing on the discourses of gender and sexuality that circulate in videos by the youtuber Felipe Neto on his YouTube channel. Videos were selected, based on the platform's own search mechanisms, in which the influencer triggers statements that refer to various issues involving gender and sexuality. The theoretical-methodological perspectives that led the investigation are aligned with the discourse analysis inspired by Foucault and post-structuralist theories. The article mobilizes arguments from the videos in which the youtuber assumes certain positions about what he calls “sex education”. Our analyzes lead us to problematize the relationship between the videos and the contemporary conservative context, promoting enunciative disputes around the idea of informing young people about sexuality issues. |

Se seleccionaron videos, con base en los mecanismos de búsqueda propios de la plataforma, en los que la influencer desencadena declaraciones que hacen referencia a diversos temas que involucran género y sexualidad. Las perspectivas teórico-metodológicas que orientaron la investigación están alineadas con el análisis del discurso inspirado en Foucault y las teorías postestructuralistas. El artículo moviliza argumentos a partir de los videos en los que el youtuber asume ciertas posiciones sobre lo que llama “educación sexual”. Nuestros análisis nos llevan a problematizar la relación entre los videos y el contexto conservador contemporáneo, promoviendo disputas enunciativas en torno a la idea de informar a los jóvenes sobre cuestiones de sexualidad.O artigo tem como objetivo apresentar parte das análises de uma pesquisa de mestrado em educação, com foco nos discursos de gênero e sexualidade que circulam por vídeos do youtuber Felipe Neto em seu canal no YouTube. Foram selecionados, a partir de mecanismos próprios de busca da plataforma, vídeos em que o influenciador aciona enunciados que remetem a diversas questões envolvendo gênero e sexualidade. As perspectivas teórico-metodológicas que conduziram a investigação alinham-se à análise do discurso de inspiração foucaultiana e às teorizações pós-estruturalistas. O artigo mobiliza argumentos a partir dos vídeos em que o youtuber assume determinados posicionamentos acerca do que ele chama de “educação sexual”.
