Resumo: The article is a reflection on the possibility of understanding science from a work of art, more specifically the film: Ponto de Mutação. It highlights the diversity of ways of interpreting things in the world such as economics, politics, science and technology. Based on the sociology of knowledge and science, it demonstrates the variability of conceptions about the process of building scientific knowledge in the organization of the research community and social actors such as public managers, social movements and companies. The demonstrations and arguments pervade the interests, attitudes and paradigms of scientific and technological knowledge, from overcoming the concept of neutral sciences to understanding the sciences as social constructions intertwined with personal and social values.

Destaca la diversidad de formas de interpretar las cosas en el mundo como la economía, la política, la ciencia y la tecnología. Basado en la sociología del conocimiento y de la ciencia, demuestra la variabilidad de concepciones sobre el proceso de construcción del conocimiento científico en la organización de la comunidad investigadora y actores sociales como gestores públicos, movimientos sociales y empresas. Las demostraciones y argumentos impregnan los intereses, actitudes y paradigmas del conocimiento científico y tecnológico, desde la superación del concepto de ciencias neutras hasta la comprensión de las ciencias como construcciones sociales entrelazadas con valores personales y sociales.O artigo é uma reflexão sobre a possibilidade da compreensão da ciência a partir de uma obra de arte, mais especificamente o filme: Ponto de Mutação. Coloca em evidência a diversidade de formas de interpretação das coisas do mundo como a economia, a política, a ciência e a tecnologia. Com base na sociologia do conhecimento e da ciência demonstra-se a variabilidade de concepções sobre o processo de construção do conhecimento científico na organização da comunidade de pesquisa e de atores sociais como gestores públicos, movimentos sociais e empresas.
