On Herbart's place in the Psychologismusstreit

Resumo: Abstract: To determine the place that corresponds to a particular author in the process called “the dispute about psychologism” (“Psychologismusstreit”), it is necessary to go beyond his express statements about the relationship between psychology and logic, and pay attention to his statements regarding subjectivity. In the following lines, this general principle is applied to Herbart, which will make it possible to determine the place he occupies in the dispute and clarify the relationship in which he finds himself with respect to other better-known and paradigmatic authors of said dispute, such as Frege. Keywords: Anti-psychologism. Psychology.  Para determinar el lugar que corresponde a un determinado autor en el proceso denominado “polémica en torno al psicologismo” (Psychologismusstreit), es necesario ir mas allá de sus expresas afirmaciones acerca de la relación entre psicología y lógica y atender a sus manifestaciones con respecto a la subjetividad. En las líneas que siguen este principio general es aplicado a Herbart, lo cual posibilitará determinar el lugar que él ocupa en la polémica y clarificar la relación en la cual se encuentra con otros autores mejor conocidos y paradigmáticos de la misma, como es el caso de Frege.Para determinar o lugar que corresponde a determinado autor no processo denominado “polêmica em torno do psicologismo” (Psychologismusstreit), é necessário ir além de suas afirmações expressas sobre a relação entre psicologia e lógica e atender às suas afirmações sobre a subjetividade.
