Resumo: | The objective of this study was to investigate basic emotional manifestations (fear, joy, anger, disgust, sadness and surprise) from 25 children, 7 to 10 years old, when playing throwing games. It was used the Facial Action Coding System, suggested by Ekman and Friesen (1978), and it was included an context evaluation. It was identified 117 emotional expressions, the majority was expression of joy, when the children played together, used some material or feet the goal. Expression of sadness, anger and fear happened when they had difficult to perform motor skills, or when they had disagreements and aggressiveness. Emotional expression performed during the games showed that this environment was favorable to emotional development and was linked with motor actions but negative situations may happen and the adult intervention may be needed. |

Emotional expression performed during the games showed that this environment was favorable to emotional development and was linked with motor actions but negative situations may happen and the adult intervention may be needed.O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar manifestações emocionais básicas (medo, alegria, raiva, nojo, tristeza e surpresa) de 25 crianças entre 7 e 10 anos de idade vivenciadas num contexto natural de jogos de arremesso. Foi utilizado o sistema proposto por Ekman and Friesen (1978) - FACS (Facial Action Coding System), incluindo-se filmagem do contexto. Foram identificadas 117 expressões emocionais sendo a maioria de alegria, quando as crianças brincavam juntas, utilizavam algum material e acertavam os arremessos. Emoções negativas de tristeza, raiva e medo apareceram em momentos de dificuldade de realizar as habilidades motoras, desentendimento e agressividade quando não conseguiam se interagir.
